Paper Bead Bangles

27 Sep

Major boredom, the kind you get Sunday night when thoughts of the week start setting in and you’re trying to make the weekend last but not sure how, set in a few hours ago when Ev left for San Diego and I was left to my own defenses.  I needed something mind numbing so I made a pile of paper beads from magazines and fancy paper.  They are super easy.  First batch I made on a pencil.  The second batch, which I prefer, I made over a skewer.

Just roll a long skinny triangular piece of paper over a skewer.  Start with the wide side.  Put a little dab of glue on the tip and count to ten.  Slide it off the skewer and that should do it.  After I made about 50 I wasn’t sure what to do with them all.  I don’t have any nice string and a yarn necklace just wasn’t cutting it.  After a little art studio search I found some pipe-cleaners that did the trick just fine.  I was able to make sever bangles.  I can’t wait to wear them to school tomorrow.  They look really fun all stacked up.
